You can now make everyone’s favorite Taco Bell item, the Crunchwrap Supreme, at home with this easy to follow recipe. Just like the fast-food version, this homemade Crunchwrap Supreme is packed with all the toppings!
Jess and I have been talking about making a homemade Crunchwrap Supreme for over a year now. We are proud to announce that it has finally happened!
We were so excited about the accomplishment we ate one for lunch AND for dinner. (Hey, we shared!)
We do try and stay away from eating fast food as much as possible, but once in a while, it’s necessary to indulge. It’s even better when you can make it at home with high-quality meat and fresh veggies from your local grocery store.
I won’t lie though, I still slathered my share with leftover fire sauce from a previous visit to Taco Bell. Of course I had to wash it down with a Baja Blast cocktail.
This was super easy to make and, I’ll say it, better than the original! You guys seem to really love it too because it has become the most popular recipe on our site receiving millions of views!
We get comments and e-mails daily for readers telling us how much they and their families enjoy this homemade version of the crunchwrap supreme. Some have even tweaked it to their liking or made it fit their diet by creating a vegetarian/vegan version. Be sure to scroll down and read the comments to find those!
Wondering what all goes in a Crunchwrap Supreme? The answer is a lot. I think that’s why everyone likes it so much. It’s the ultimate taco bell treat!

Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground meat
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 6 burrito size flour tortillas
- 6 tostada shells
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 2 cups of shredded lettuce
- 1 diced tomato
- 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
- Nacho Cheese
Instructions
- In a skillet or large cooking pan, cook and crumble the ground beef over medium-high heat. When it is no longer pink, drain the grease.
- Place meat back into the pan and stir the taco seasoning mix as well as the water it calls for on the packet. Cook according to the package instructions.
- Warm up the nacho cheese sauce in the microwave and set aside.
- Place the flour tortillas on a plate and warm in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
- Lay one tortilla on a flat surface. Spread a couple of tablespoons of nacho cheese in the middle of the tortilla.
- Place ½ cup of taco meat on top of the nacho cheese.
- Next, add the tostada shell, a thin layer of sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and lastly, the shredded Mexican cheese.
- To fold into the actual crunchwrap, start with the bottom of the tortilla and fold the edge up to the center of the fillings. Keep doing that, folding as tight as possible, as you work your way around the tortilla.
- Spray another skillet or cooking pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Place the crunchwrap supreme, seam-side down, onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 min., or until golden brown.
- Flip over and cook the other side for another 2-3 min or until golden brown.
- Cook the rest of your crunchwraps and eat immediately.

what’s the difference between a tostada shell and a (crunchy) taco shell? great recipe!
Jessica Pinney says
I think the main difference is that tostadas are flat.
MJ says
For the tostada, can easily fry a corn tortilla in tiny bit of oil, or spray with Pam and bake it, or simply break a taco shell in half if tostada shells aren’t available. Easy peasy!!
Aunt Finucane says
Why two different kinds as to soft taco & tostada shell? Can people leave out the sour cream? Can we subsituted guacamole or salsa for the sour cream?
amanda says
so excited to try these. getting the ingredients tomorrow!
Connie says
Delicious! Will be making them again!
Kay R. says
Outstanding! This recipe is amazing and made my hubby smile from ear to ear at first bite. He’s not big on fast food but he had his top favorites and the crunch wrap is definitely one of them. To know that I can now make them at home for him (and me) does my heart glad. Thanks bunches, Jessica! ?
Jessica Pinney says
Glad you all liked them so much, Kay! You are very welcome.
Jill says
My boyfriend and I were looking for something easy on grocery shopping nite these were delici Is! I can’t eat Taco Bell because it makes me sick so it was my first time eating a crunch wrap!
Dawn says

Mike says
I’m giving this a try tonight, it looks good, and too many good reviews ?
Rocky says
I’m a “no spicy: girl, so l use the shredded cheese, it’s fine. How do you reheat these for next day’s lunch? Just warm In microwave? Or toast a bit in toaster oven?
Cindy C. says
I’m going to make these this week-end! I’m going to put a layer of refried pinto beans on them, too! I like the ones from Taco Bell, but I know I’m going to love these! Thank-you!
Catsmum says
Nacho cheese does not exist where I live. Can anyone suggest an alternative please?
Jessica Pinney says
Are you in the US? If so, virtually every chain grocery store and Wal-Mart carry nacho cheese. You can also order it on Amazon, or make it yourself. Plenty of recipes online. It is basically just flour, butter, and cheddar cheese.
CC says
I can’t wait to try this! So good!
channy says
OMG these taste better than Taco Bell’s..Thank you for the recipe the kids devoured them!! 🙂
Katit says
This was such a epic fail for me.. ? I soo looked forward to making these! I bought the largest size burrito there is and I could NOT get it to fold like the video not even CLOSE! Had to use two and it didn’t work out the same at all!! ? Idk what I did wrong!!
Kristen says
These were delicious! Any tips on how to keep the tostada from getting soggy? That was our only issue.
Holly says
I truly am an awful cook. I followed the directions to a tee and come to the part to fold, it would not close. So…..we had big soft tacos for supper. Sucks to be me. ?
guinan says
How large (in inches) are burrito wraps? I live in the Netherlands and everything is just “wraps” here.
Jessica Pinney says
I believe that the burrito tortillas are 10 inches.
Jocelyn Huff says
FANTASTIC! Just made them tonight for dinner, and the family was lined up in the kitchen to grab theirs lol. A complete winner for taco tuesday!
Grammie says
The regular Frito corn chips are my absolute favorite thing to use to instead of the tostada shells, also try using the Cheese Con Queso dip that they sell in the chip isle in the supermarket for the cheese. It has a little bit of spice to it. YUM!!!
Mo K says
Made tonight. Fantastic. The Guerrero tostada I had was too large to be wrapped fully by the burrito-sized tortilla so I added another burrito and folded it up that way. Obviously not the way to go normally, but it satisfied a hungry husband tonight. Next time I will break the tostada into quarters and overlap, or just use tortilla chips and drop little dollops of sour cream on top.
Thanks for this great recipe that will be in my regular rotation!
Mo K says
Second night assembling these. OMG so good! I did find that the tostada:burrito ratio was too large (I could not completely wrap the contents) so the second time which was tonight I broke up the tostada into fourths and overlapped the pieces into a smaller circle.
This is a wonderful recipe and totally satisfies my and hubby’s Mexican food craving! I will be making this one regularly. Many thanks!!
Hope says
These were a hit with most of my family. However it was very messing (I made 8 large ones), burnt my finger putting one in frying pan (trying to keep it closed) and the lettuce became warm & soggy. I’d omit the lettuce if I decide to make it again.
Brandon says
These were very good,i substituted queso for the nacho cheese and nacho doritos for the tostada.
Colleen says
This is FANTASTIC!!! Use the nacho cheese !!
Jennifer says
These were yummy, made them for my husband, he ate 3.

Can’t wait to try this tonight! Thinking about trying Rotel tomatoes in the jar or salsa instead of regular diced tomatoes.
Jessica Pinney says
That sounds delicious! I have used salsa before and it comes out well. Hope you enjoy. 🙂
Suslee says
I’m making these tonight with a few substitutions, I’ll report back. The biggest tortilla I’ve seen is at WinCo grocery store. I know the burrito size where I normally shop are not going to be big enough.

How can this recipe be printed?
Jessica Pinney says
The easiest way would be via the “print” button on the right side of the recipe.
Pat B says
Thank you. I tried this but the recipe is blacked out.
Jessica Pinney says
It is working correctly for me on 3 different browsers and 3 different devices. Make sure you have updated your browser to the most recent version, I recommend using Chrome.
You can also just copy and paste the recipe into a Word document and print from there.
Zahrana says
Tried these awesome wraps! Super delicious! Thank you for the recipe.
Lzamo says
I used canned refried beans instead of nacho cheese, and they were delicious .
Jurgen says
Made this recipe tonight and they were absolutely delicious!!! In Holland I couldn’t get all the ingredients at my local supermarket. So by lack of good nacho cheese I used a different kind of cheese spread and in stead of the tostada shells I snapped open a taco shell. Will be serving these to friends….
Lori says
Came out great! Couldn’t find tostada shells so used hard taco shells that I broke in half. Will definitely be making again!
Brittany says
I really like that we can make this meal at home and we don’t have to go to toco bell just to get something they made when you can make it at home.
Bill Liberis says
My wife is vegetarian so I will try this with Morningstar Farms crumbles instead of the beef – sauteed in chopped onions and garlic and a diced jalapeno peppper – and substitute 1 T Chili powder, 1 t cumin, and 1 t paprika, dash of salt and fresh ground pepper with a cup of vegetable broth for the taco seasoning.
