This light and floral sakura latte tastes like you’re sipping on spring! It’s easy to make and can be served hot or cold.
Nothing will wake you up on a spring morning quite like a sakura latte.
If you don’t already know, sakura is the Japanese word for cherry blossom trees. In the spring time, these trees are bursting all over with their beautiful light pink blossoms.
I’m always jealous of all the cherry blossom infused food and drinks I see at the festivals in Japan, so I decided to start making some of my own.
This cherry latte was one of my first experiments and it has become a regular morning treat for me. It has a light and delicate floral flavor that contrasts the rich espresso in a delightful way.
If you’re a fan of lavender lattes – you’ll love it!
Ingredients
- Espresso – Brew a double shot of your favorite espresso beans. You can substitute 2 oz strongly brewed coffee or cold brew.
- Milk – Use whatever milk you usually enjoy in your lattes – (cow, almond, oat, coconut, etc.)
- Cherry Blossom Syrup – I purchased this from Sugoi Mart. For a cheaper option, you can substitute 2 teaspoons of Sakura powder with an ounce of simple syrup.

Tips
- To add a bit of dimension to the latte, add a pump of vanilla bean syrup.
- This latte can also be served hot. Just add the espresso and syrup to a mug, then pour in steamed milk.
- You can also leave out the coffee and it with just the milk and syrup. I like it this way with boba.
