This recipe combines vodka with two different liqueurs to make a shot that tastes like liquid Nutella. It’s perfect for chocolate lovers!

Three miniature Nutella jars filled with shots and rimmed with Nutella spread on a black background.

If you love Nutella, these little guys are absolutely going to be your new favorite dessert shot!

Perfect for parties or as an after-dinner indulgence, they are made with vodka, chocolate liqueur, and hazelnut liqueur. The taste is very similar to that of rich, chocolatey Nutella spread.

A thumb and index finger hold up a mini Nutella jar that's filled with a Nutella shot. The rim has been dipped in the hazelnut spread.

To make them extra fun, I serve them in miniature Nutella jars which are the perfect size! You can garnish by dipping the rim in the spread or topping them with whipped cream.

If you want to try making more dessert shots, I highly recommend trying a simple tootsie roll shot or a stunning layered snickers shot that tastes even better than the candy bar!

Ingredients

A bottle of Skyy vodka, Frangelico liqueur, and creme de cacao all on a black background.
  • Frangelico – This is a hazelnut liqueur that is essential to this shot.
  • Creme de Cacao – This liqueur brings the chocolate flavor. There is a clear version that will give you the same flavor, but not color.
  • Vodka – Plain vodka is best so that the chocolate and hazelnut flavors of the liqueurs really shine. Any brand is fine to use.

How To Make

A two photo collage showing pouring the ingredients into a cocktail shaker, then straining it into a miniature Nutella jar.
  1. Dip shot glass rim in Nutella (optional).
  2. Add vodka, Frangelico, creme de cacao, and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake.
  3. Strain into shot glass.

Tips

  1. Chill it. This shot is best served really cold. Chill your shot glasses, even the alcohol bottles, and be sure to shake with ice.
  2. Creatively garnish. You can garnish these with a rim of Nutella or something fruity like strawberry sugar for contrasting flavors. You could also top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
