All the flavors you love from a lemon drop shot in an ice cold, refreshing slushy that’s made in the Ninja Slushi machine. Sweet, tangy, boozy and delicious!

Like many millennials, I fell in love with lemon drop shots sometime in the 2010s while standing in a dive-bar wearing a “going out top”.
If you’re unfamiliar, a lemon drop is a really simple, balanced shot (or cocktail) that has just the right amount of citrus tang and sugary sweetness, paired with a smooth vodka. It’s basically a boozy lemonade!
Since I’ve been on a slushy kick all summer, I very quickly perfected the Ninja Slushi lemon drop. It’s ice cold and refreshing with the perfect amount of booze to power you through a hot afternoon. I make it with store-bought lemonade to keep it simple. No need to bust out the citrus juicer.
Add fruit purees or syrups to make lemon drop twists – my favorite is strawberry. I also really like passionfruit and blueberry or blackberry. Pretty much any flavor of lemonade you like will work great in this cocktail!

For more delicious slushy recipes that are perfect for warm weather, try the Ninja Slushi Margarita (the easiest, most fool-proof version out there!) or the watermelon Malibu slushy.
Ingredients

- Lemonade – I use a bottle of Simply Lemonade to make it easy, but you can use another brand or homemade lemonade.
- Vodka – Use your favorite brand of vodka. Use an orange flavored vodka for an extra kick of citrus.
- Simple Syrup – You can use store-bought or make your own by dissolving sugar into water at a 1:1 ratio.
- Water – Adding a small of amount of water helps the slushy freeze and create the perfect consistency.
Tips
- Experiment with different mixers. Tequila is fun swap for the vodka and so is whiskey. A honey whiskey is my preferred substitution. You can also use limoncello for extra citrus flavor.
- Make it spicy. Try jalapeño infused vodka to make a spicy lemon drop slushy.
- Keep it cold longer. My best Ninja Slushi accessory buys have been a Yeti pitcher and insulated cocktail cups. They will keep your slushy frozen and at consistency for hours!

If you like citrus forward drinks, I highly recommend you try a Meyer lemon margarita or a round up lime drop shots that are equally delicious with vodka or tequila.

- 5 cups Lemonade
- 1 cup Vodka
- .5 cups Triple sec
- .5 cups Simple syrup
- 1 cup Water
- Sugar, optional rim
- Lemon slices, optional garnish
Instructions
- Add lemonade, vodka, triple sec, simple syrup, and water to your Ninja Slushi machine.
- Press "spiked slush" and wait for the machine to beep and signal it is ready.
- If desired, rub a cut lemon around the edge of your glass. Pour some sugar on a small serving plate. Dip the rim of the glass in the sugar.
- Put glass under the machine and pull the lever to dispense your slushy. Garnish with a lemon half moon, if desired.
Notes
- Replace the simple syrup with an equal amount of fruit puree (like strawberry) to make a lemon drop with a fruity twist.
- Make sure all the liquid ingredients are chilled beforehand to slush faster.
- This recipe was developed using the standard 88oz Ninja Slushi model. If you own the smaller capacity machine, cut the recipe in half to ensure it fits.
