Lime drops are a simple shot with fresh lime juice, vodka, and simple syrup. A great mix of sweet and sour flavors. Very refreshing!
We’ve been doing a lot of virtual happy hours with our friends and I’ve been trying to switch up whatever we’re drinking each time. We’re mostly trying to use whatever liquors and mixers we already have, so I’ve been really into simple cocktails and shots.
Luckily our backyard is full of citrus trees, so limes are never in short supply. Vodka is the MVP of liquors, so our bar always has plenty of that. It only made sense to try and whip up some lime drop shots.
Ingredients
- Lime Juice – It is important to use fresh lime juice because pre-bottled contains preservatives that alter the flavor. An inexpensive handheld citrus juicer makes it easy.
- Vodka – I use non-flavored vodka in my lime drop shots but flavored versions like vanilla, lime, orange, or cake are also good options.
- Simple Syrup – I like to use vanilla bean simple syrup in these shots but non-flavored also works well. If you don’t have simple syrup, you can use white sugar – just be sure to mix well so it dissolves.
