Chill out with the most magical treat of the wizarding world – frozen Butterbeer! This boozy version of the Diagon Alley drink will delight wizards and muggles alike.
Every year, I fill my millenial duties by having a Harry Potter movie marathon.
It’s always fun to try out new magical treats inspired by the films. In the past, I’ve served both polyjuice potion shots and Butterbeer shots. They’re always a big hit!
Recently, I acquired a Ninja Slushi. Naturally, I wanted to try out a frozen Butterbeer slushy with alcohol for this year’s festivities.
The end result was a sweet, creamy, frozen Butterbeer that had the perfect consistency! And you can barely taste the alcohol, so it’s perfect for those who like a cocktail that is easy to drink.
Ingredients
- Cream Soda – I think A&W cream soda has the perfect flavor for this drink.
- Butterscotch Syrup – Torani Butterscotch syrups helps to bring the “butter” flavor.
- Buttershots – This is a butterscotch flavored schnapps and it is aboslutely perfect for any Butterbeer cocktail.
- Vodka – Smirnoff “Kissed Caramel” flavor is the best choice for this recipe, but vanilla vodka also works.
- Optional toppings – Whipped cream and caramel or butterscotch syrup.
Tips
- Chill all your ingredients before hand so that it freezes quicker. Mine took about 30 minutes starting with chilled liquids.
- Pre-mix a second batch in a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. Add it to your Ninja Slushi as needed throughout your party to keep the Butterbeer flowing.
- Place your pint glasses in the freezer for a few hours ahead of time, so that your slushies stay colder for longer.
