These simple and easy to make Peanut Butter Banana Yogurt Dog Treats are a great way for your pup to cool down! Budget-friendly and healthy for your dog.
Our poor little dog, Pearl, has to smell the wonderful things we cook all the time. It must be torture to have all those wonderful smells penetrating your nasal cavities knowing that you won’t get any.
Yes, life for Pearl is pretty tough. You should definitely feel bad for her.
Sometimes she even has to go on trips with us and stay at nice hotels, or ring in the New Year on the Queen Mary.
Like a good mom, I can’t talk about her without showing a baby photo. Just look at that lil’ face!
Because she’s such a good girl despite having it so rough, I thought she deserved some Cooking With Janica recipes too.
I like to keep dog treat recipes very simple. This is one of my favorites as it has only 3 ingredients.

How To Make Yogurt Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats
Making them is pretty simple, you just throw all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend.
Then fill up a silicone mold (I use this one) or an ice cube tray and freeze for two hours.
How simple is that?!
Because these dog treats are frozen instead of baked, they are perfect for summertime. You don’t have to turn on the oven, and your pup gets a tasty treat that cools him/her down.
I hope your furry friend enjoys these treats as much as Pearl does!

Using the paw print mold, how many treats does your recipe yield? Thanks!
Rebecca says
Could you add brewer’s yeast to help with fleas?
Jessica Pinney says
I have never used brewer’s yeast, but after reading about it I don’t see why not. If you try it please let us know how it goes!
Rebecca says
I have made a treat with just brewer’s yeast and coconut oil in It. The dogs ate it but it was almost a bribe so I wanted to add something they would like more flavorful. They just can’t have to much brewer’s yeast. I will try it and let you know how it goes.
Lily Rose Gis says
I just wanted to know how long I can keep the treats in the freezer.
Thanks,
Sally says
I can’t seem to get the recipe. Do you use just plain yogurt?
Jessica Pinney says
What do you mean, Sally? Yes it is just plain yogurt.
Irma Kay Strickler says
Where can I get that “paw” silicon mold?
Jessica Pinney says
I got mine on Amazon. If you have trouble finding it I have a link to it in the recipe, as well as in the intro before the recipe.
Judy says
i have been looking for the recipe for this. Where is it hiding?

Did you click on the bar that said “read more”?

Pearl is precious. Thanks for the recipe.
Frosting Fran says
The paw print mold is made by K9Cakery.com. It turns out perfect little paws. Easy to clean too. I use it all the time. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Jennifer says
Please read the peanut butter ingredient list. Some brands are now being sweetened with zylitol which is bad for dogs. Otherwise, I am sure all three of our dogs – even the finicky Jack Russell – will love these.
LauraRose says
I don’t have a dog, but these look delicious for people too.
Diane says
Thanks I will be trying this recipe tomorrow for my little chipoo Bella. She loves peanut butter.
Jessica Pinney says
I hope Bella enjoys them!
Casey says
Hi Jessica! After making these and the initial freeze- what is the recommended shelf life? Can we store them on the counter do they need to be kept frozen? Thx!
Jessica Pinney says
Hi Casey! You will definitely want to keep them frozen.
I have kept mine as long as 3 weeks and they were still fine. They may get a little “icy” on the outside, but my dog doesn’t seem to mind 🙂
Apisha says
How much is 32oz in mL? I’m planning to make this treat for my little dog. Greetings from Canada!
Sasa says
Im gonna use the dog butter instead of pb its better for them and my dogs love it. They practically try to bite the spoon to get it lol
Kayla Hutsul says
Do you use plain regular yogurt or plain Greek yogurt? The consistency from the video looks like it would be Greek yogurt. Can either be used? Also how many paw print moods does this recipe make? Thank you!
Randi says
As someone else mentioned, can I use plain Greek yogurt instead?
Julia says
Adorable doggy! So cute!!
Ariel Vanasse says
We just made these. I cut the recipe in half and it made a little over a full ice tray. So naturally the pups got to eat the leftovers and lick the bowl clean. They loved it! And im sure they will love it when it is frozen too. (I even tried some and it was in fact quite delicious) Going to be a great treat for hot summer days! Thank you for the recipe!
Christy says
32 oz is 909 mL.

omg!! Sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!!!:):)

We use brewers yeast. Neither of our two dogs have had a flea or tick, knock on wood. .
Some dogs like coconut oil straight up and some do not.. I make the cc. oil + brewer’s y. treatsvin a gummy bear mold. They LOVE them :))
If you can find organic peanut butter the only ingredient is peanuts. No sugar. No salt. No worries! ♡
Tammy says
I made a batch of these for all the fur-babies in the family. My husband and I have Coco, a doxi-terrier mix, then there’s Henny Penny a mini doxi, Stella a manchester terrier mix, Shadow a black lab, and Izzy a yellow lab. They ALL love their ice cream treaties!!! Thanks for sharing your recipe! Ruff Ruff!!
Jessica Pinney says
So glad your dogs enjoyed it, Tammy!
Emma says
Can I use vanilla yogurt to make these?
Jessica Pinney says
I’m sure that would be fine. I do try to avoid yogurt with added sugar.
HeelerGirl says
I would just stick with plain. The added sugar and flavor is not necessary, and every dog recipe I have ever seen has specifically said plain..
🙂 <3
Stefanie says
Can you add fresh mint and parsley to these to help with breath?
Jessica Pinney says
I think that would work great, Stefanie. Hope your pups enjoy!
leanne pecukonis says
My recipe said 3 bananas and 1 cup of PB and 32 ozs of yogurt. Is that wrong proportions?
Bronwyn says

Previous post write. “dog butter” ? What is that??
Crystal says
How many can I give to my dog I’ve never seen my dog love something so much like he did with these and it’s so simple I filled the ice tray with it and put the rest in the fridge for another time lolol
Finnley says
The puppy paw mold is adorable, I cant wait to try this. Looks so much healthier than anything at the store and I already have the ingredients at home! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Jeannie Kushina says
If I make them and put them in containers for gifts are they okay if they’re out of the freezer do they melt or do you have any yogurt recipes that don’t require freezing I have several dogs in the family I want to make treats for ans they all love peanut butter
Jessica Pinney says
They are frozen, so they will definitely melt if they are not frozen. I don’t have any other yogurt recipes, but I do have a Peanut Butter Dog Treat Macaron recipe. http://cookingwithjanica.com/peanut-butte-dog-treat-macarons-recipe/
Karen says
Made these as Christmas presents for my 2 granddogs. They absolutely love them! So easy to make. I got both the large and small paw print molds since one dog is little and one larger.
diana byrd says
can you use vanilla favor yogurt?
Jessica Pinney says
Flavored yogurt usually means added sugar. I would steer clear.
Elizabeth says
What peanut is xylitol free?
Elisabeth says
Any natural or organic peanut butter
Michelle Sandoval says
How many each using a small heart mold for a small breed dog of 10 lbs?
I posted before but put my wrong email address
Jessica Pinney says
Hi Michelle! My small dog is about 10 lbs and I wouldn’t give her more than one a day. I would recommend consulting with your vet about it as all dogs are different.
Pari says
So looking forward to making these for my pup! I actually want to make them for a play date at the dog park with some friends. Do the treats melt really fast? I want to take them with me, but I know we need to store them in the freezer.
Jessica Pinney says
Think of them like a popsicle, if they are out of they freezer they will begin the process of melting. You could try putting them in a very cold cooler of ice, but you will likely still be on borrowed time. Hope the pups enjoy!
Jeanie Mikesell says
Can’t wait to try these, but can you please add to your recipe to only use natural or organic peanut butter? Some people may not realize some peanut butter contain zylitol which is toxic to dogs! Thank you!

Joyce Nykaza says
How much brewers test can you but in the ice cream!
Joselyn says
Can you use strawberry yogurt? Is that ok for pups??
Jessica Pinney says
If it is flavored it probably has sweetener. I would avoid.
