Is it really Christmastime if you haven’t had any little smokies yet?
I don’t think so.
To officially kick off the holiday, I made a batch of this classic appetizer but added a holiday twist by covering them in a spicy apple cranberry sauce.
To make the sauce, I used apple jelly, canned jellied cranberry, and some spicy BBQ sauce (to add a little kick).
When I made the first batch, I wasn’t really sure how they would turn out…
After they simmered a few hours, I dipped my toothpick in and picked up one of the juicy little guys.
I bit into it and….OH MY GOSH…it was sooooo delicious! Just bursting with flavor!
With a 5 minute prep, easy crock pot cooking, and flavor explosion, I think these little smokies are my new favorite holiday party appetizer!

Just made this recipe for an early Christmas get together. It was excellent, just the right amount of sweet and spicey with a little tang. They were devoured, not one lil smokie left! Quite a few people were wanting the recipe.
Thanks for sharing your recipe, it’s my new go to for this dish!!
