Add flavored syrups to Sprite, then top with a cake cold foam to make this decadent red velvet flavored soda.
If you follow me on TikTok, you know that recreating soda shop drinks is my passion.
Not familiar with these types of drinks? Basically, you take different sodas (or energy drinks) and add flavored syrups to create a whole new flavor profile. Sometimes people top with OJ, lemonade, or even cold foam.
I love trying out new flavor combinations, so when I saw a shop nowhere near me make red velvet flavored sprite, I knew I had to recreate it myself.
The result is a sweet, creamy, decadent soda that’s the perfect little afternoon treat. It’s my go-to beverage when I don’t want the amount of caffeine in a Red Bull Italian soda.
Ingredients
- Sprite – You can use 7-Up or another lemon-lime soda, if you’d prefer.
- Red Velvet Syrup – Essential to this recipe. I like the DaVinci brand version of this flavor.
- Cupcake Syrup – I keep this on hand to make birthday cake lattes. If you don’t have any, vanilla is a good substitute.
- Milk – I recommend using whole or 2% milk to get the best cold foam consistency.
- Heavy Cream – Using this, in addition to milk, helps make a really thick cold foam.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – You can leave this out, but I recommend it because it gives the cold foam a nice consistency and adds some sweetness.
Tips
- To get this soda even closer to the flavor of red velvet cake, add a tablespoon of cream cheese powder to your cold foam.
- I don’t recommend using Sprite Zero, as the sweeteners in no-sugar drinks tend to cause the cream to curdle.
- Experiment with other sodas – red velvet Dr. Pepper is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted!
