A three ingredient shot named after the Butterfinger candy bar. Perfect for when you want a boozy, sweet treat!
Craving a chocolate after dinner shooter? Try the Butterfinger shot!
Like most dessert shots, it’s made with a few different liqueurs. When combined, they taste similar to a Butterfinger. The only tool you need to make it is a cocktail shaker.
If you’re looking for a dessert shot with some fruity flavor, try the Jam Donut shot.
Ingredients
- Kahlua – I don’t recommend substituting another coffee liqueur because this shot needs the subtle chocolate notes of Kahlua.
- Butterscotch Schnapps – Any brand of butterscotch schnapps works. I use De Kuyper Buttershots.
- Irish cream – Bailey’s, the most popular Irish Cream liqueur, works best in this recipe.
Tips
- If you want to impress with your presentation, this shot can be layered. Add the Kahlua in first, then slowly pour the schnapps over the back of a bar spoon. Repeat with Bailey’s.
- Add some pizzaz by dipping the rim of the shot glass in chocolate syrup, then in crushed Butterfinger.
Variations
- Substitute Screwball in place of the Butterscotch schnapps.
- Make a stronger version by adding an ounce of vodka and serving over the rocks.
