These Butterbeer Shots inspired by the Butterbeer drinks in Harry Potter are perfect for your next movie marathon! They taste like butterscotch with hints of cream and vanilla and can be put together quicker than you can say “Diagon Alley”!
Last week I posted my Polyjuice Potion Shots that I made for my annual Halloween Harry Potter movie marathon. You guys really seemed to like them, so I hope that you’ll also enjoy this Butterbeer shot recipe.
Of course I don’t know what the “real” Butterbeer tastes like because I am a mere muggle who does not have access to Diagon Alley. I have, however, had the Butterbeer at Universal Studios Harry Potter world and it is pretty freaking delicious.
I wanted to shrink down that flavor and add some alcohol to make a delicious shot. I kept it pretty simple so that anyone could easily make these.

Butterbeer Shot Ingredients:
- Vanilla Vodka
- Butterscotch Schnapps
- Cream Soda
- Cool Whip
- Gold Sprinkles
You can substitute vanilla vodka for regular vodka if that’s all you have. The shots will just be slightly less sweet and miss the hints of vanilla.
I used Cool Whip instead of canned whipped cream because I thought it looked the most “foam-like”. If you are making a lot of these shots, it might be easier and faster to use canned whipped cream.
I used these metallic gold edible glitter flakes. If you’re an upper-class wizard who really wants to flex, you could use real 24k gold sprinkles instead.
