Who is Janica?
Janica is comprised of two people: Janette and Jessica.
Janette had a dream we started a company together called “Janica Inc.”, so when we started a food blog it was the obvious choice for a name.
Here, we share fun and exciting recipes so you never have to eat a boring meal again! We are well-known for our copycat recipes, deep fried food, and wine gummy bears.

Janette
Janette has a pretty unique day job – she’s a director of photography and camera operator for television shows and documentaries. You may have seen her work on TLC, Food Network, CBS, Discovery or in documentaries like “This Is Paris”.
Jessica
Jessica also previously worked in production, but decided to pursue a full-time culinary after traveling around the country with Janette on a Food Network show. Now, she develops recipes for Cooking with Janica and I Hate Meal Prep.
Pearl
Our poor little dog, Pearl, has to smell the wonderful things we cook all the time. It must be torture to have all those wonderful smells penetrating your nasal cavities knowing that you won’t get any. Yes, life for Pearl is pretty tough. You should definitely feel bad for her.
Back when we first started dating, we spent a lot of our days off work making over-the-top and “trendy” foods together. We started Cooking with Janica to share the recipes with friends who kept asking for them.
Several years later, we have hundreds of thousands of monthly readers and our recipes have been featured everywhere from Buzzfeed and The Huffington Post, to Southern Living, USA Today and more!

Janette Staub
She learned to cook by watching her mother make three meals a day from scratch to feed all eleven family members! The recipes she shares are inspired by that homecoming and by food that she’s tried while on the road for work.
When not working, she loves putting together large puzzles and hiking all over Southern California.

Jessica Pinney
Her mother is a caterer and avid dessert baker, so Jessica learned from her and started cooking herself before she was even 10 years old! Her recipes are often inspired by her Southern roots as well as her love for deep-fried foods and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
In her free time, she likes to visit National Parks with Janette and shoot time-lapse photography.
